Agoraphobia Survey

Hi guys. I was contacted by a student who needs help with an agoraphobia study. If you have a few spare minutes i would be grateful if you could give your input. Its completely anonymous and only a few questions long. Thanks http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/8CBJQ8B

Regarding the ear question, there is a book by Harold Levinson who links most anxiety disorders to the inner ear. I am awaiting a psychiatrist appointment to discuss this as I think it worth exploring. I was doing well last year re anxiety and then an ear infection gave me a terrible anxiety and agoraphobia relapse. It is worth bearing in mind - if we don't try, we will never know. Treatment involves anti-motion sickness tablets but MUST be done under the care of a doctor.

Pfft, the ear thing. Read the boring book and had my ears checked.
Check food reaction too. I have severe panic attacks (anaphlactic reaction) to kidney beans. It was a shocking revalation.
Did the survey.

Haha Cloudy, yes the book is a bit repetitive but I am sure for some (not all) people it is the answer. Also, did you try the inner ear medication? I was tested for pcos and high testosterone and the tests came back negative, yet I was treated for this condition anyway and it cleared up my severe acne and sorted out my hirsutism. My point is, testing at the dr is not always straightforward and sometimes we can test negative for something yet respond to the treatment/medication anyway. Just a thought.

Food intolerances are also an interesting link. This is something I keep hearing about yet I have never fully explored it myself. Certainly something to bear in mind.

This was an interesting survey. I just wanted to share a website I found that has been really helpful for dealing with my phobia...http://onlineceucredit.com/edu/social-work-ceus-pho. It offers a lot of great ideas for coping with various types of phobias.
