The Boy In The Striped Pajamas

I have had a very relaxing night and decided to spend it reading my new book. 2 Hours later I have finished. 'The Boy In the Striped Pajamas' was excellent. At first I thought it was a children's book because of the way it is written but i quickly realised this was because it is a child telling the story.

On the back of the book it says 'Usually we give some clues about the book on the cover, but in this case we think that would spoil the reading of the book. We think it is important that you start to read without knowing what it is about'

So for that reason I wont say anything more about it, only that i recommend it... and don't go googling it to find out what its about either haha. I actually had an idea of the story before reading and I can see why NOT knowing would have perhaps been better. And now i am off to watch the movie lol. If you have already read it i am interested to hear your comments (though don't give the story away ha)

I think i'll add this to my list of books i want to read. I've seen the advert for the movie, although that didnt really interest me but if you recommend it i'll defiantly check it out.

Also Lynn, what did you think of We Need To Talk About Kevin? I loved it, one of the best books i've read in a long time. Were you expecting what happened in the end?

When it started i didnt like it but soon i was hooked. I loved it. Its one of my favourties now too. I was actually gutted when it was over. The boy in the Striped Pajamas is fantastic alse but i would avoid the movie... it was pants. They had German and Polish kids speakin with English Accents! Any other books you can recommend. I need to shop for more xxx

This is already on my wishlist, I'll get round to it at some point. Last book I read was The House at Riverton. If you haven't read it, it's worth a look. Took me a while to get into it but once I did I couldn't put it down. Very bittersweet.

I quite fancied this book too but I have such a big wish list I'm not down to that one yet. And my wife has realised that my walks to the shops and coming back with a book might scunner us if I keep doing it so wrist slapped there. I will get it at some point though.

All the best

I have read 'The House at Riverton' i did enjoy that if i remember rightly. It was one of Richard and Judys recommended reads lol. If anyone wants my copy of 'the boy in the striped pajamas' its a bit tatty but id be happy to send it your way. Im moving onto the one Dr Presicdent recommended now. 'Town House', all about an agoraphobic, should be interesting. Also if anyone wants this after me, just let me know x
